Judges and Juvenile Probation Officers may assign community services hours as a means of having offenders give back to the community they have aggrieved. Missoula Correctional Services in conjunction with Missoula Youth Court provides supervisory personnel for young people ordered to perform community service. Program youth are directed to complete any varying number of court-ordered hours within a specific time frame.
In some cases involving restitution, youth may have opportunity to work off a portion of the cost of restitution by performing community service.
